Authorization Reversals
CLOWD9 will receive Reversal Requests and Reversal Notifications from the Network as a result of the transaction either not being completed, or due to the Card Acceptor cancelling the original authorization.
A reversal request message is generally generated by the Card Acceptor Acquirers where they have not been able to deliver CLOWD9's authorization response as received by the Network.
A Card Acceptor may also decide to initiate a Reversal Request message to cancel the full or partial amount of the original authorization amount.
For On-Ledger Customers CLOWD9 will approve the request and provide the response to the Network. The full or partial amount will be reversed from the debit reservation amount.
For Off-Ledger Customers, CLOWD9 will require you to approve the request and adjust the balance held for the end card user.
The Reversal Notification will result in a full reversal of the original authorization. This message is generally generated during exception conditions identified by the Network or in the event CLOWD9 have not responded to a previous Reversal Request for any reason.
For On-Ledger Customers, CLOWD9 will acknowledge the Reversal Notification and reverse the amount from the debit reservation, unless already actioned from a linked Reversal Request.
For Off-Ledger Customers, you will be require to acknowledge the message from CLOWD9 and reverse the amount, unless previously actioned from a linked Reversal Request.
