Green, Yellow & Red Flows

During the Tokenization request, there are several risk criteria which are checked by CLOWD9, the Network and the Wallet Provider. The outcome of the risk decision will define the flow the Tokenization request will follow.

Green Flow - Approved

Also referred to as the Green Flow, whereby the cardholder tokenization request is completed without the need for additional verification.

Yellow Flow - Authentication Required

The Authentication Required flow (also referred to as the Yellow Flow) is used when one or more of the risk criteria however additional authentication is required.

  • One Time Passcode provide via SMS
  • In-app notification, also known as a push notification whereby the requestor authenticates via their mobile application
  • Passcode / verification request provided to the requestor via Email
  • A direct call to your Customer Services

Following succesful authentication, CLOWD9 will return an authenticated response.

If the authentication fails, then the tokenization request will not be permitted.

Red Flow - Decline

Commonly know as the Red Flow, the request is automatically declined due to the risk criteria levels not being met. For example the device score exceeds the risk threshold or authentication is not succesful following the Yellow Flow.
